SANDY MARX
VAN CURAN

Sandy now works as ground staff
withBritish Airways in Boston!
My career with ONA

I graduated July 1969 and was
there until the end 1978 and
then went to Indonesia with
Steedman and UACI to do the
hadj in Surubaya.

Margareta Nisser was also there
and I flew together for years
with Barbara Stephen.

The whole ONA experience was a
great one never to be
forgotten!

Greetings from Sandy

Margareta Nisser,
Barbara Stephen
The ONA reunion in New York October 23
2003 was a blast...there was quite a
few people I hadn't seen in ages.
Lots of screaming and kissing!
And even tears....boy how I miss
those good olde days.

We were young and fun and whipped
around all different places in the
world like we were going to the
corner drug store.

And we forged friendships that are
still in place 34 years later!
Amazing!

OK....we are still FUN........
just OLD.....but some of us still
whip around the world.

I work for British Airways as
ground staff in Boston and I'm
around planes ... and European
destinations.

VIETNAM BABYLIFT

Sandy with one of the infants
We carried the babies strapped into
boxes. The baby I am holding gave me
a devil of a cold. She had a Red
Cross attached to her leg which
meant they were the neediest and
should be taken off the plane first.
The whole de-planing in Travis took
forever. Maybe four hours or so.
On boarding in Hawaii Sharon or I
(can't remember which one) were handed
a baby in a body cast. Turns out she/he
was a survivor of the C5A military plane
that had crashed a couple days earlier
on takeoff. Sharon and I started to cry.
Gonna be a long ride. It was an
unbelievable experience. We were ready
to do more but alas didn't. I did do
relief flights when Saigon fell.
That's a whole other story.
Sandy
