MAGGIE MEETING VICKI AND DAVE
![]() ![]() Dave |
JUNE 2009Dave and Vickie Case were driving down to San Diego and stopped off in Dana Point/ San Clemente so that we could have lunch. We had a grand time eating lunch overlooking the Marina and reminiscing about ONA. Dave is busy writing another book; this time about his flying career. We had fun laughingly calling our reunion a Senior Crew Party as I think we're over 40 (!!!). California has just had it's Gray May and June Gloom with overcast skies, so I'm sure we'll be seeing the sun very soon. Maggie ![]() Maggie and Dave |

Which years did you fly ONA?I joined ONA in 1967 as a DC-9 first officer. Six months later I was upgraded to captain. I stayed on the '9 as captain until I could hold the '8 as captain. When the '10s came out I bid them as a first officer, hoping for an early upgrade. I rated on the '10 at American Airlines, but never flew captain. ![]() ![]() |
Which aircraft did you like flying the most and why! I liked the '8 best and wound up my career with over 12,000 hours in command. Why? Four engines, two pilots, one professional engineer and eight flight attendants. And Douglas made her. (Look to Lockheed for leadership -- look to Douglas for aircraft -- if it's Boeing, I'm not going.) ![]() ![]() Which flying contracts did you enjoy the most? I truly enjoyed flying passengers international. Which countries did you enjoy flying to the most? I liked flying the world. |
