News on new movie submitted by Cece!
See the trailer here!
Hi ONA CREW!
I would like my fellow crewmembers
that the film SECRETERIAT is coming
out mid October...the big red horse
that won the Triple Crown etc.
Was watching a program on the horse
and it had real footage and some
scenes from the movie...
I was so so excited that after the
horse had run its last race it did
an honor lap around the racecourse
then they loaded him onto the
aircraft to go home to retirement
and....IT WAS OVERSEAS NATIONAL
on the real footage, I called George
Flavell and he told me that the owners
were so pleased with Overseas National
when they flew Secretariat one time
that we had the exclusive contract
to fly Secretariat everywhere. So if
the film is sticking with reality
they will use Overseas National.
I have to see the film! It is the
Electra equipment. Do any of the
Electra guys remember flying
Secretariat?
We send our love to everyone

I´m begging you please to come home ...
Cecilia Overthrow McCloy to the

Amos Barbara Fish.
FROM INGE CASTRISSIADES
The crew in question
(Amos Blum, LAX) was my crew.
I am holding the cake, behind me
is Dara Young, we recognized
Karen Pickelsimer as well.
They were new F/A's and I was
new as a senior. I am working
on the rest of the girls,
trying to find my old log book.
Will let you know. I do know
Thila Gerber and Cecelia quite
well.
Please name more of the
gorgeous flight attendants!

Secretariat (March 30, 1970 – October 4, 1989) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse, who in
1973 became the first U.S. Triple Crown champion in twenty-five years, setting new race records
in two of the three events in the Series—the Kentucky Derby (1:59 2/5), and the Belmont
Stakes (2:24)—records that still stand today.
Secretariat was sired by Bold Ruler (a grandson of Nearco) and foaled to Somethingroyal.
He was foaled at Meadow Farm in Caroline County, Virginia. Like the equally famous horse Man o'
War, Secretariat was a large chestnut colt and was given the same nickname, "Big Red."
Owned by Penny Chenery (aka Penny Tweedy), he was trained by Lucien Laurin and mainly
ridden by fellow Canadian jockey Ron Turcotte, along with apprentice jockey Paul Feliciano
(first two races), and veteran Eddie Maple (last race). He raced in Penny Chenery's
Meadow Stable's blue and white checkered colors and his groom was Eddie Sweat.
Secretariat stood approximately 16 hands 2 inches (170 cm) tall, and weighed 1,175
pounds (533 kg), with a 75 inch girth, in his racing prime.
