Today is my birthday and my 
big wish is that the book will be 
done a year from now. We have added 
a third writer for "Memoirs of the 
SkyGirls",Cindy Burnham. Cindy was 
in a few classes behind us. Recently 
I spent a week in Martha's Vineyard.
Betty Broderick was also with us.
When I last saw Cindy at the last 
ONA reunion she told me she also 
thought of writing a book about her 
ONA experiences. During the week we 
compared logbooks and realised how 
many key experiences we had shared.
I asked her to come aboard with 
Debbie Slabach and me. The most 
important thing is getting this 
book out there. I want the story of 
ONA to live on. With all the negative 
publicity about flight attendants 
I want to tell the world that we 
really flew in a glamorous and 
exciting time. We wore hats and 
gloves and took pride in how we 
looked and the service we provided.
We were the airline.  

It is a bygone age and I think the 
public at large would like to know 
what life was like for us. 

As Cindy says,
"The world was our oyster."

This will not be a 2011 version 
of "Coffee,Tea or Me". Rather a book 
that will make you laugh as well tug 
at your heart and make you cry.

There will also be a CIA twist.
Debbie and talk every day and 
go through the dialogue so that we 
actually believe it is happening.

I flew with ONA from April 1972 until the end 
of 1977. In 1997 I started a novel based on our 
adventures with ONA. It came to a halt in 2000 
because I couldn't find Debbie Slabach. 
I flew with her more than anyone else.

I found Debbie Slabach through Facebook and we have 
been cowriting this book since March.

It will be called 

Memoirs of the Sky Girls
by Arnelle Meyer
co-editors
Debbie Slabach and
Cindy Burnham

The fictional airline will be Nova International. 
It will be a first class charter having acquired 
the ONA crews and ONA's certificate of routes.

I would like to receive photos from people and 
also key stories that will be fictionalized in 
the book. I have interviewed many people already 
including George Flavell, Ray and Nancy Roy,
Sue Simeoni, Pam Green, Marilyn Doolittle 
to name a few.

I would love input from cockpit and cabin crew, 
and maintenace and especially those who were on 
the 1975 crash at Kennedy on 1032.
