PART TWOWell, when her Mother found out she was going to get married she and one of her Aunts’ came down from New England on a bus to New York, to talk her out of it. Of course I hadn’t met any of Jeri’s relatives before now and didn’t know exactly what to expect either. Her Mother was very nice and her Aunt too. Originally I didn’t know they came down primarily to talk her out of getting married, until later after they left she told me, but said she was still going to marry me. That sure made me happy to hear that from her. Jeri had to resign from Eastern before she could get married, as that was the EAL regulations at the time, but I would of made her quit anyway. My feelings on that are, I don’t think a wife should have to work outside the home unless financial help is needed to make ends meet (pay the bills). Jeri has always been the first one to say she will get a job to help out, whenever I was out of work or when I was on strike with EAL and she always did get a temporary job till we got back on our feet. When I had time off, I wanted her there so we could do things together and later on of course to do things with her and the kids. And Jeri says, “Wasn’t he bossy and still is”. Yes we got married on May 29, 1959 in a small Church on Long Island, NY, with an EAL Stewardess and Pilot as our Best Man and Maid of Honor and the rest is history. I met her Father and the rest of her family on our Honeymoon and the first thing he said after we shook hands was; “Normally we would already have had two or three arguments” and we both laughed. ![]()

![]() Al in ONA uniform 1966 [This day and age we're living in Gives cause for apprehension With speed and new invention And things like fourth dimension. Yet we get a trifle weary With Mr. Einstein's theory. So we must get down to earth at times Relax relieve the tension And no matter what the progress Or what may yet be proved The simple facts of life are such They cannot be removed.] You must remember this A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh. The fundamental things apply As time goes by. And when two lovers woo They still say, "I love you." On that you can rely No matter what the future brings As time goes by. Moonlight and love songs Never out of date. Hearts full of passion Jealousy and hate. Woman needs man And man must have his mate That no one can deny. It's still the same old story A fight for love and glory A case of do or die. The world will always welcome lovers As time goes by. Oh yes, the world will always welcome lovers As time goes by.
