Welcome to Bacau Roumania!

Here are a few photos I took while
in Roumania. Bucharest is the
capital. I had an assignment in
the small city of Bacau. 

It's a city of about 200,000 and 
has a young crowd due to two 
main universities. 

This city as well as many other
cities in Roumania, I find very poor.

Bucharest on the other hand
is a very large city and 
itīs expensive to work and live. 

I understand this country has entered 
the Euro dollar value but elsewhere 
they like using the Lue money. 

1 USD is worth about 2.26 Lue. 

The hotel is one of 3 in this city and 
compared to the other two much nicer. 

I still think they are about 70 years 
behind, but that is my opinion.
I was working a B737-400 aircraft there 
by a company called Aerostar. 

There main background was working Fighter 
aircraft mainly Mig's. Now in 2003 
they went in to commercial and heavy into 
Boeing equipment. They do very good 
sheetmetal work. 

Other photos are of the Main Street and 
shopping area, City Hall and Administration 
in the city of Bacau. Rebuilding of an old 
church has been going on for three years 
due to lack of funds.
